Not for the faint-hearted, and all the better for it. Comfortably Numb is Triple FFF's strong ale — named after the Pink Floyd classic, naturally — and it is exactly the kind of beer you settle in with when the evening deserves something more serious.
Deep amber in colour, it pours with a mouth-watering hop aroma from a magical blend of malts and Styrian hops that announces exactly what's coming. On the palate: smooth, warming malt flavours develop into a deep, spicy hop finish that lingers long after the glass is empty. Devilishly moreish, as Triple FFF themselves put it — and they're not wrong.
A wonderful autumnal or winter warmer, and a beer that rewards slow drinking. Perfect paired with strong cheeses, slow-cooked meats or a roaring fire. From Triple FFF Brewery in Four Marks, near Alton, Hampshire — brewing award-winning ales since 1997.
