Danebury Cossack Brut Vintage 2021 English Sparkling Wine 70cl
This Cossack vintage fizz is a really delicious, smooth and very easy to drink (!) sparkling white.. True to vintage, this traditional method sparkling exudes warmth and ripeness of orchard fruit with aromas of apple, pear and white peach. Flavours on the palate evolve to lemon and grapefruit, balancing with subtle yeasty notes and a fresh, vibrant acidity. The mousse is delicate yet persistent, complimenting a clean, refreshing mouthfeel through to the finish.
The Cossack vintage sparkling wine is made from a blend of the Auxerrois Blanc (Auxerrois Blanc is a cross between Gouais Blanc and Pinot Noir, which have the same ancestry as Chardonnay), and Rulander grapes (a German synonym for Pinot Gris). It is made using the traditional bottle fermentation method and aged on its lees. The name Cossack is taken from the Danebury trained 1847 Epsom Derby winner.
